Experimental Drawing Workshop

I so enjoyed teaching tallented students in spectaular surroundings.  We had a really fun day exploring all sorts of mark making including drawing with both hands at the same time, using pencils attached to long sticks and experimenting with wire.  I am delighted to have been invited to return and give another workshop on 14th April 2018. Artist Residency, NLCS

Having spent 10 days at North London Collegiate School I had forgotten the buzz and noise that takes place every 35 minutes.  There is a rhythm to the school day.  NLCS has an incredible art department with talented practicing artists teaching.  I had a space allocated to me just by the entrance.  This enabled me to share my work and interact with the students. I usually prefer to create work alone in my studio.  This was a completely different environment and I enjoyed a new perspective of sharing work in progress.  There is an energy and vibrancy in the art …

The Big Draw, Collaborative Artwork

   The Big Draw Event at Clifton Nurseries on 1st November was a wonderful day full of fun.  Over 100 people of all ages said hello to their creative side and drew plants, spiders, butterflies, an owl, a reindeer and much more!  The idea was to pick a plant pot on the large piece of paper and draw a real or imagined plant.  We were located in the Fern House, surrounded by beautiful plants in magical Clifton Nurseries.  I chose a selection of plants to help spark ideas.  The Venus Fly Trap and the Lipstick plant proved popular.  For me, …
