Open House 2017

A wonderful first weekend of Wandsworth Artist Open house sharing my artwork with over 100 people.  It was exciting to exchange property details in the front window of Century 21 with screen prints.  The office had a gallery feel with my artworks suspended from the ceiling.  I am very much looking forward to the second weekend – do say hello! Urban beauty SW15

I am excited to be exhibiting work at Century21 in Putney during Artists Open House in October 2017.  During one of our meetings we discussed the idea of removing the property details from the stylish display and replacing with my artwork.  I had no work the correct size and began thinking about what 16 pieces I could create for this location.  On my walk back to the studio I admired several roses in lovely gardens.  They were probably the last blooms of the summer.  I returned and drew several roses using pen and ink.  I developed these drawings into screenprints.  …

Bridal Bouquet Commission

A treat to draw beautiful flowers that have huge significance and meaning to someone.  I was lucky enough to be given the bouquet a couple of days after the wedding.  I stopped all other work and focused on drawing the flowers at their best.  The bouquet was made up of blue and white flowers.  I matched the blue to the colour of the flowers and drew upon crisp white paper.

Memories of the Market

Memories of the Market was a film screening held on the 7th June at the Lost Theatre in Stockwell, London.  The screening was part of the London Festival of Architecture and focused on the theme of memory. Outside the theatre colourful fruit and vegtables from New Covent Garden Market were available for guests to enjoy.  I nibbled on strawberries and peaches.  The series of artworks I created inspired by the Market were exhibited on the stairs leading to the cinema.  Just below my works, a garland of carrots and vegtables decorated the stairs.  The film comprised of ten mini documentaries …

Experimental Drawing Workshop

I so enjoyed teaching tallented students in spectaular surroundings.  We had a really fun day exploring all sorts of mark making including drawing with both hands at the same time, using pencils attached to long sticks and experimenting with wire.  I am delighted to have been invited to return and give another workshop on 14th April 2018. Venue: Chapel Cottage Studio, Llanddewi Rhydderch, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire NP7 9TT

Drawing on stone: Lithography

I am currently creating lithography prints of fern for The Royal College of Physicians Exhibition taking place next year.  I have been experimenting with drawing on two stones and plan to crop the artworks.  The prints are now on my studio floor and I am debating my next move!
